Lomash / Caves

Padma Puran Uttara khand says that he has lots of hair (Lom) on his body. As one Kalp passes, one hair of his body falls, that is why his name is Lomash. He knows all about past, present and future.


We meet Lomash Muni in Mahabharata in Swarg with Indra when Arjun was in Swarg to take celestial weapon from his father Indra. Indra sent him to inform Paandav that Arjun was all right and he will be reaching there soon.

In Ramayan, Kag fushundi ( crow ) tells Garudji that he learned the story of Ram from Lomesh Rishi, who learnt it from Shiv, 

He helped Raam to perform Shraaddh at Pushkar.
